When CLT Came In Handy to Save Kenyan Stranded In Saudi Arabia

admin  ·  October 12, 2026

Centre for Litigations Trust (CLT) rushed to help a Kenyan lady who had been stranded and held captive in Saudi Arabia.

Amina Shebe, a resident of Shika Adabu, Mombasa, was completely helpless and urgently needed to be rescued, and flown back to Kenya

She had reached out to several people including elected leaders in Mombasa seeking assistance, but unfortunately, her pleas never received the support she desperately needed,

The Centre, through Executive Director Mr Julius Ogogoh, later stepped in and ensured she returned home safely and reunites with her family.

Mr Ogogoh donated KSh 36,000 to pay for Amina's flight ticket from Saudi Arabia to Mombasa.

“We are not only helping Amina today so that she’s flown back to Mombasa but proving our goal as CLT, of advancing social justice and inclusive human rights for every vulnerable Kenyan whose rights may have been breached” Mr Ogogoh noted.

He said the support was a clear assurance of the organization’s commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of vulnerable Kenyans, supporting those in distress, and ensuring that no one is left behind whenever they need help most.

Meanwhile, Amina's family thanked CLT and its Executive Director for their contribution to making the intervention possible and looked forward to seeing Amina safely back home.

CLT works to empower individuals and communities through the law, promote social and ecological Justice, champion equality and the realization of human rights enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

The organization believes in advancing its vision for a resilient and just society whose governance is founded on dignity, integrity and inclusivity while ensuring that no individual/ community is left behind in the quest for social justice, accountability and good governance.
