Centre for Litigation Trust to Roll-out Youth Engagement Initiatives for Peace in Coast Region ahead of 2027 General Elections

Centre for Litigation Trust (CLT) Executive Director , Julius Ogogoh made the announcement on Monday during a consultative meeting with Coast Region Regional Commander, Ali Nuno, in Mombasa.

The meeting discussed key security matters and strategies for empowering youth across the Coast region.

The discussions focused also on strengthening civic education, reducing drug abuse, and promoting peace and social cohesion in preparation for the 2027 period.

Julius Ogogoh commended Ali Nuno for his continued commitment and efforts in the fight against crime and encouraged sustained collaboration to enhance community safety.

The youth engagement initiatives will include mentorship programs aimed at promoting peace, cohesion, and socio-economic prosperity across the region as the country approaches general elections in late 2027.

Election Disputes Resolutions Roadmap

CLT is further planning to unveil Elections Dispute Resolutions 2027 Roadmap aimed at preparing political parties and aspirants for elections disputes resolutions.

The roadmap is tailored to prepare the Country for peaceful election disputes resolutions to minimize elections violence during and after political parties nominations and general elections.

The Centre will engage and partner with election stakeholders including the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission IEBC , in the electoral processes to prepare aspirants on election disputes resolution mechanism.

The Centre is also seeking partnership with IEBC in undertaking civil education a head of the general elections.

Election disputes resolution  is one of the mandates of the Centre for Litigation Trust which has proved successful in the previous elections, including 2027 General elections.

The Centre engaged and litigated effectively in more than five election disputes in 2027, three in Mombasa , and one in Baringo West.

In Mombasa , the Centre litigated and resolved successfully , election disputes for Kongowea, Airport and Mkomani Wards.
